4 F4 stars to watch at Macau

by Alex Johnston

For week one in Macau, we see Formula 4 take to the circuit at Guia. A host of different drivers will take part including FRECA, Italian F4 and F1 Academy stars. Here, I'll focus on four in particular who are worth watching!

Freddie Slater

Freddie Slater has had a breakthrough year, and since graduating from karts has sampled a number of different series, impressing along the way. The 15 year old Brit was seen in British F4, Euro 4 Championship and Italian F4 at the tail end of the season, scoring points on regular occasions as he got comfortable in single seaters.

In Macau he'll run with Theodore Racing by PREMA, and it'll be interesting to see what he's capable with after just 18 races in a single seater, albeit with some impressive performances.

Martinius Stenshorne

Norwegian teenager Stenshorne took the Formula Regional European Championship(FRECA) by storm this year, mounting a serious challenge to eventual champion Andrea Kimi Antonelli as he stepped up from Italian F4.

He'll race with Pinnacle Bmax in Macau, and with him widely expected to join the FIA F3 grid in 2024, a strong showing at the Guia circuit could be important to his progression.

Bianca Bustamante

Newly signed McLaren Development Driver Bustamante is certainly one to watch here. An impressive showing in F1 Academy for PREMA caught the attentions of McLaren and she's been signed for another season in F1 Academy with ART Grand Prix - another powerhouse name of junior formula racing.

She'll spend the weekend in Macau with Black Arts Racing and hope to challenge right at the sharp end of things.

Hadrien David

French racer Hadrien David is very much the experienced head of the European based racers, having competed at the top of FRECA, tested Formula 3 and won multiple times in multiple series'. He's spent this year racing part-time with Monolite Racing and ART Grand Prix in FRECA, placing his best finish of fourth at Spa, although part time/guest drivers are not eligible for points in FRECA.

As he heads for Macau he'll race for R-ace GP and should very much be a contender for the win.

Be sure to watch the F4 stars this weekend!
