Another day, another chance to catch up on interviews! This time it's 2021 British F4 champion, Matthew Rees! The Welsh teenager spoke to me back in August and I'm delighted to have finally been able to post this one!
2022 was spent racing in the GB3 Championship with JHR Developments, a team that's played as a home to names like Billy Monger, Abbi Pulling and Ayrton Simmons in the past, as well as of course Matthew.
A strong debut season in the championship saw Matthew end the year an stunning 6th overall, taking a high number of points finishes, three podiums and a win as he settled into the series nicely.

Onto his answers!
1. Hairpins or chicanes? Chicanes.
2. Long straights or slow corners? Slow corners for the braking zones.
3. Understeer or oversteer? Oversteer as I find it a lot more controllable and looks good.
4. Fast circuits or technical circuits? Fast circuits; as it seems to suit my driving style.
5. Wet races or wet/dry races? Wet races as everything is dependant on the lines you take and the talent of the driver behind the wheel.
6. What's your favourite circuit you've raced? Probably Knockhill due to the sheer amount of uphill, downhill, sharp, blind and long bends along with the Scottish scenery.

7. Favourite you've NOT raced? I’ve liked every one so far but from a result point of view, I would have to say Thruxton.

8. Your favourite F1 livery ever? For me it would have to be the 1980s Marlboro McLaren.

9. Your favourite helmet design ever? Apart from my own of course, it would have to be the 2021 Turkish GP helmet from Max Verstappen because it just suits the car and blends in so well.

10. Who is best driver you've raced against? From statistics, I would say Isack Hadjar in European Karting but the driver I thought was always a challenge even in British karting was Taylor Barnard.
