Lucas Blakely could be something special

by Alex Johnston

First off, a disclaimer; I, or thelaidbackraceblog, are not in any way affiliated with Lucas Blakely, his team KMR Sport or anything like that…However Lucas, if you’re reading this you’re more than welcome to put our logo on your car or join us for an interview! All that that’s out the way…Lucas Blakely is a massive talent, allow me elaborate on this.

A compatriot to me, my fellow Scot Blakely has spent this year racing in (or trying to get the budget to race in) the GB4 Championship…but let’s get this straight before I get too ahead of myself - GB4 is a really strong, competitive and entertaining series, but this is a stomping ground for drivers to understand ‘wings and slicks’ driving before making a bigger step.

When he’s done so, the Irvine born driver has starred, and won a race per round he’s competed in and finds himself sixth overall, despite missing the opening three round, having taken four further podiums, a total of seven in nine races. This is some impressive stuff for driver who made his name sim racing.

The likes of Cem Bolkukasi and perhaps most notably Jann Mardenbrough have made the leap from gamer to racer and Blakely is following suit in scintillating style, tallying up big points with his limited opportunities. Just imagine he had the budget for a full season.

Someone needs to back this guy for a full campaign, he’s clearly got some great ability, honed by gaming, but mastered on track and fully deserves to make that next step up to GB3 in 2025.

Lucas, if you’re reading we wish you all the best for progressing as high as you can! Keep it up!

📸 With Blakely’s help, along with fellow Scottish teammates Chloe Grant(formerly in F1 Academy) and Harry Burgoyne Jr, KMR won the teams championship in GB4 this season.

Potential backers, if YOU’RE reading this…This is a guy who beat Sebastian Vettel by the way…look it up!
