Ones to watch, episode 1; Martinius Stenshorne

Another day, another new segment! In this 'Ones to watch' series, I'll focus on one young driver who is beginning to make waves and catch eyes across the racing world!

For episode 1; I've chosen Norwegian youngster Martinius Stenshorne, who is currently competing for R-ace GP in the Formula Regional European Championship, otherwise known as FRECA.

📸 At the circuit, post podium!

From the first 3 rounds(6 races), the 17 year old has won 3 races, and seen off the challenge of Mercedes prodigy Andrea Kimi Antonelli who was widely expected to dominate the series after his rapid rise from karting through Italian F4 and F4 UAE as well as the Formula Regional Middle Eastern Championship(FRMEC) series over the start of the year.

📸 Antonelli was expected to dominate pre-season, but is yet to win after 3 rounds.

In 2022, the Norwegian raced in Italian F4, taking two podiums and showing fine consistency to finish 7th in standings as well as having stints in Spanish, UAE and ADAC F4 before competing in FRMEC at the start of this year.

Managed by Nicolas Todt, the son of former Ferrari principal Jean Todt, Stenshorne impressed on the opening race weekend, winning race one and taking second in race two before scooping two wins at the last round at the Hungaroring.

With 7 rounds(14 races) still to go, it's hard to say if Stenshorne can maintain his form but given what we've seen so far, there's no reason he can't!

You can catch him in action at the next FRECA round in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium on the 30th of June to the 1st of July as it supports the 24h of Spa.
