Ones to watch, episode 7: Freddie Slater

No, not an 'Eastenders' character, the driver in question is in fact, British teenager Freddie Slater who will make his full single seater season debut this year, having sampled F4 cars towards the latter end of the 2023 racing season in multiple series, as well as at Macau.

The 15 year old not only has the talent, but the backing to go as far as he wants in racing, and his shown how good he is with karting trophies and championships that show he may well be a step ahead of the others, in a similar vain to Kimi Antonelli who's career has taken off in spectacular fashion, much like Slater's looks set to do.

The British teen will be looking to follow In the footsteps of Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Lando Norris and reach F1 to be Britain's next star.

📸 Could Slater join the likes of Lando Norris on the F1 grid in the next few years?

Straight out of karts and a Ginetta Junior title winner towards the end of 2023, he raced F4 cars just over 20 times and winning once in the Euro 4 Championship as he sampled both PREMA and Van Amersfoort set ups, taking a further podium in the illustrious Macau F4 Grand Prix, adding to that in Abu Dhabi at the F4 UAE Trophy Round.

In 2024 he's scheduled in for a full season in Italian F4 and Euro F4 with PREMA, but much like many drivers at this level, there's a chance he'll pop up in other series' too.

This kid is the real deal. Britain's next big star? Very possibly.
